Soo much...

So much going on as usual, but this is a good thing. I am starting to almost feel human. Almost ... being the key here and because I feel like I wasn't active enough for the Secret Sale I have extended the date some. And in doing so I uploaded the QMC back to the store but increased the price to compensate for the sale. Hope that makes sense. So I will keep uploading my files in order to catch the secret sale.

Next if you have purchased the QMC for 2009 1st Quarter.. Please make sure you are a forum member by logging in. The forum and the store have two different login systems. I can only add those to the section who have registered there. If you are planning on downloading through 4 shared. Just download the pdf from the link sent to you after purchasing. This pdf gives you the login information for 4shared.

This is our finished snowflake photo ornaments I made for the family. I glued the picture to the front part of the flake, my son glued the back piece on and cut the ribbon and helped thread them for everyone. he was happy to take his little bag and be able to give everyone something for the holidays. And he put his name on the back. I had him do this before they were glued together because he uses the pen pretty heavily still. They came out nice.

And this is a picture my hubby took of the sunset a couple days before Christmas. I had to share because I thought it was beautiful.

Cough Cough... Bingo, QMC almost done, Secret Sale one more day

Still not feeling well. Feeling like I can't breathe very deeply. I will be glad when this cold runs its course. we were doing better over Christmas and then bam the day after Christmas all sick again. ugh. So I am short and sweet in posting today.

Snowingggg in the Desert.

My little one has been praying for snow. So today we got it and Dad was home to play with him. yeah!! So lots of fun. Most in the country would say. ugh Snow. but here in the desert where it only sticks for an hour or two and barely at that. It's lots of fun. Supposed to be cold tonight. Have to keep an eye on the pups and the horses. I will post some of my projects next week that I did for gifts. But for now I am off to hang out with the family some more. Tomorrow is a family wedding. Should be wonderful to see lots of family. The cool weather means nice to curl up and be together in the warm house. Piped in Snow... Hot Plates... Happy Weekend!

It was a wonderful day yesterday. Tonight I think we are headed to snowfall at a local shopping center (we pipe snow in here 15 minutes at a time in the desert). My son wants to play in the snow soooo bad he is offering up chores, his sea world savings, everything. So we are going to hopefully stand in some piped in snow for a few minutes tonight and then are headed to a neighborhood that collects food for the food bank and puts on a christmas light show. My hubbies only wish for his bday was to walk through this neighborhood. Should be fun and I will take the wagon for the kiddo. Trying to think if I have any battery operated Christmas lights to put on the back of it.

Last night we went to Red Lobster. I never have problems eating here with my allergy. So we went and the hubby had a nice dinner and my kiddo had popcorn shrimp. So you KNOWWW this child's Mom is a gluten free person. We noticed half way through the dinner he had peeled all his popcorn shrimp and left the breading on the table. haha. My husband rolled his eyes. this is much like the fact that my son thinks a hot dog bun is for holding the hot dog and not eating. so his fingers don't get dirty. haha. And after finishing the hot dog pitches the bun. I am not worried at all. If he doesn't want to eat the extra calories at 4 years old so be it. He doesn't think about it in calories, but I am not going to curb him from not eating things that in the long run will add to his hips. Plus, he and I had a little discusson at dinner about he could have this or that or this, but to think about if he ate to much of the Cheese Biscuit he wouldn't have room for the rest. He could do it if he wanted to, but he didn't want to have a tummy ache. He ate a few more bites of the biscuit and waited for dinner. been hard trying to teach my kiddo moderation in food. I know I have a hard time with it and am learning it because of my hernia surgery. I still get the guilty feeling when I leave any food on my plate. I can still hear in my head about the starving children in Africa. And I took this seriously when I was little because my mom lived in Zimbabwe for a large part of her yout. So she must have known.

My biggest question is ... why why why do restaurants put children's plates on the heater? As soon as the servers say "NOW BE CAREFUL this is hot." (And even said it had been on a plate heater.) I asked for a second plate. Then I put the hot plate in the middle and put some of the food on the cold plate. Be Careful and burns do not register in my sons mind. And why chance it. I didn't say anything to the server. I just think this every time. It makes no sense, but we just fix it ourselves. haha. My son probably thinks he needs two plates to eat a restaurant.

Well anyways. Dinner was good. Parenting was minimal. My Hubby was happy. Life is good.

Well I better get moving. Heading to the MIL today so my little one can do Christmas Cookies. I will work from there. So they can bond. Have to finish some Christmas Gifts this weekend.

Happy Thursday! and Happy Birthday to my Hubby!

Well we are celebrating her today! Celebrating my hubbies bday and he even wore this ridiculous hat we have when my son came out with it! What an awesome Dad! my little one in his Helmet Heroes setup of course. Today we plan to head to town with my love and do a little shopping, get a little dinner, and head home.

My husband is one of the biggest blessings of my life. I have found such a wonderful best friend and supporter in all we do and all I do. His eyes just sparkle when he looks at me and I just get those butterflies still inside. We have known eachother for 10 years now and have been married for 7. Time does fly and we are always working on things together and enjoying every moment. He sent this quote to me recently in an email. And it just made me smile.

It suits us as we are always on another adventure it seems.. are you gagging on the sweeness now? well top things I love about my hubby and then I will quit..

his smile, his eyes, his heart, his hugs, his ideas, how he is with our son, he laughs at my jokes and silly stories, how he gets that quirky smile when he is being mischevious, how he works at things til they are right, how he can drop what he is doing and just wrap me in his arms, how he calls me and touches base all day long, how he drops what he is doing to talk to his Mom on the phone, how he listens to my "cutter world" stories, how he..... well I could go on... but I'll just throw in this last one.... How he sits a horse... Yowser, makes me weak in the knees.

Well thats enough of this romance-a-post!

Oh and I have I told you that he recently looks at something and says "would that make a good cutter file?" OH MY LORDY LORDY!! hubba hubba.. And now he is seeing the world in Cutter file vision, like I do!! Wooohooo.. Couldn't be better.

New Song, Last 2 icing the cake QMC files

So I have been adding songs here and there to my Christmas song list. I think for Christmas day I will pop on my computer and just listen to them all day. Recently, I was emailed a request for a song by Melissa Etheridge. The sentiment of missing someone and being worried about someone really hit home. And it fits my criteria.. you can hear her sing and understand the words. Love that kinda music! So if you get a chance to listen, I have the player on shuffle, but it is on the top of the list. I thought it was a powerful song and was requested by a lady who is missing her hubby as he is away serving our country and uses my pop out player at work while working on the computer. Thank you to her husband and for her request!

And now on... The last two files for the QMC are up. One is part of gear head line. I thought this one would be the most versatile because it could fit a card or project easily. and the next is a snowflake photo frame. These are for my kiddo to make for everyone. He is in charge of one gift every year. So Igive him all the pieces and basic instruction for putting them together. This year I will cut the two piece snowflakes and circles. He can glue and put his name on the back and help with cutting the ribbon to hang them. I am looking forward to working on them this weekend.

I will post a larger picture of his visit with Santa and the accompanying story tomorrow... As there are always stories when you live with a four and a half year old.

Here is a quick story for now...

So my son has decided he wasn't sick from the flu a few weeks ago. He was sick because he was at the ballet. He is ruined for the rest of his life. It is his feeling that the ballet makes you throw up and sick for days. I ponder the thought that this might be the problem with some men and their phobias of the ballet or opera. Maybe they got sick and now mentally feel it is the actual performance that makes them sick. Like a mental block. haha. I thought I had my kiddo talked out of it and he is watching tv and some commercial comes on with a doctor, astronaut, officer, and then a ballerina.... My little one is chanting when I grow up I could be that... I could be that... I could be that... He gets to the ballerina... Looks at me and makes his best throw up impression .. bent over. tongue hanging out wretching noise and then says... I can't be that ... Ballet people make you puke! (Yes I would say he is ruined for life. Oh well. We shall try for culture again next year.)

Tab Book for a Poetry Packet

So here is my tab book. I cut this for my niece. She needed a scrapbook for her Languages class in high school. I used almot all the pages as tabs. It is a bit much, but I knew she needed to list different poems. So I did them all tabbed. So this was part of her bday gift. I think she was excited until she realized she had to write all the poems to go in it. So Aunt Chris didn't do all of it. Just got it started. If you would like this file.. You can purchase it HERE.

And my son has decided he likes the new couches. Granted he has stolen pillows from one couch to us on another and get the perfect comfort factor, but he is enjoying himself, he smiled for the picture and he isn't running around being a very loud "helmet hero". So I am counting my blessings. haha.

So the early bird extra bonus files have flown away til next quarter maybe. Thank you to those who have already joined Chris's QMC. You can still join even if you missed out on those early bird files, I feel (and I might be biased) $10 for 20 plus files is a gonga deal.

So my hubby and I are full blown germ carrying sicker then should be parents. Our son has powered through the last cold and my hubby and I are still wakling around with cough drops in our pockets so I will keep this short and sweet.

I am off to work on some new files and run through all the notes I took the last few days. I would really love to have a digi-pen that records your notes and you don't have to have special paper for it. Then I could get home and download my sketches and make files out of them. Anyone have any experience with them. I would love to hear.

First some business..

I have discovered my new couches are MAHVELOUS to sleep on. haha. love it.

Well I'll be back for more tomorrow. I am off to get a quick snoose in to keep up the energy and then head to my sisters for pizza and more time with my Dad. He hasn't left yet, but I miss him already.

couches, twisters, and negotiations.

If you are wondering where I am this weekend. and the beginning of next week. I am spending some time with my Dad.He lives in Wisconsin and I soo look forward to his visits.

As for everyone else. Here is a picture view of what has happened here at the Durnan household while I have been sick. Thank you for stopping by ....

We got new couches. My first ever couches that were purchase. I love the family hand me downs or I would have been sitting on my backside on the floor for much longer in life. My hubby and I were so excited. It was also the first couches we both agree we liked in the ad. So decided quick get them!

And the tree went up in the last few days. The bags underneath the tree are for my niece and nephew and my kiddo decorated them. It was his contribution and he was pretty proud of them.

And then this is my sons nativity scene which was given to him by his Grandma last year. I love it. I put it in plain site at eye level so he would play with it and ask who the people are. If he breaks it oh well. it is his. It is more important to me that he know what the reason for the season is. And behind it is one of my favorite decorations. A bardbed wire christmas tree with western ornaments and has white lights. This is my type of Christmas decor. I love it.


I asked my son why his Mary and Joseph are always laying down. he smiled at me and said. "Well Mom there was a twister." Apparently this week we had bad weather here in the house as well as all the stomach flu. haha. But they are his so I try only to right them to standing position about once a day.
And next... My Dad will be here this weekend. So come the end of the weekend and early next week, I won't be around lots. My Dad comes once a year from Wisconsin and if I can mobile in some pictures to the blog I will, but I just look forward to spedning time with him.

And the top excuse from my son as to why he shouldnt have to clean his room....
"We can just close the door to my room" (and a tilt of the all knowledgeable head as he smiled at me like I was born yesterday) "because that is what a door is for". I smiled politely (and tilted my head with a smile like I had been born many yesterdays ago)
and said...
"hmm.. then Grandpa won't be having a sleep over with you"
.. and he walked out of the room with his shoulders slumped. "Okay fine."
It was his last excuse because he realized in order to have Grandpa sleep in his room it would have to be clean. It was finished finally after many many reasons why it shouldn't be from our little negotiator. His room looks mahvelous!

Recuperating Guys! My Dad, and the new QMC

Hello to everyone! I lost track of my Monday because I was taking care of my guys. Both are sick with the stomach flu. My hubby never gets sick and he is down for the count. So wew! My little one made it through the ballet and when we got out. Yucko bucko puke all over. And he is so sweet. So worried about the mess and if his Dad was okay because he was holding him when it happened. Then Dad started to get sick. So I sat up with the little one and watched movies most of the night. Today was a day of recuperation and trying to get everything together for the rest of the week.

My Dad is coming to town. WOOOHOO! He will be here Sunday. I am so excited to see him and miss him so much. Fantastic. We will be celebrating Christmas with my siblings and Dad and their families. And this year the festivities are at my house. Well I have been looking at my ancient couches and wondering what to do because they are just horrid and you can feel the wood frame now as you sit in them. Well my hubby had seen one ad recently with a couch we both decided we liked. So hmmm... well we went shopping and ordered them. They will be here tomorrow. YEah! So excited. My first ever picked out not hand me down couch (although I love my helpful family, we are definitely furniture swappers in this family) So when they get here and they are very western I will send some pics to the blog.

And today I got the QMC up into the store and after much deliberation and conversation with people I think we will just keep calling it Chris's QMC! It is easier and QMC is something I have used since the beginning. So yeah!! And on that note the QMC is in the store. This first week there are 4 additional files for the Early Birds.

So it is time to sign up for the 1st quarter 2009. The early bird files will only be downloaded from the store and not in the QMC. You can see it in the store HERE. And yes I am gonna keep it at 4shared and the forum for everyone to use it as they like. And next, you are guaranteed 20 files, but so far we have 29 files for every membership. Plus if you join the first week you will get the 4 additional files. WOohoo!!

I am running out the door to my son's school performance. It is at 10. He has to go to school first to get prepared. So in the meantime we will be taking the truck back to the tire store to replace my tire. 9 HOLEs in my tire. the tire guys actually had to come out and show their admiration for me continuously proving their jobs are secure!! hahah. or maybe it was just to laugh at me. I told them. Hey I have been here in 3 months. So pretty much they said. Yeah you've just been waiting. wew! My son is excited about this performance and I will take lots of pics to share.

Pics of a rider and his Dad & off to the tire store. Oh yeah!

Hello to all!! Today I am off to the tire store. The tire store where "they know my name". humming the cheers theme here. Really rather ridiculous to walk in to a tire store and have them know you. One time they in astounded looks said. You have three nails in one tire and a puncture in another and low on air in the last two. Well I keep them in business so they should just be happy. They also know I will show up with my laptop and create while I sit there. The smell of rubber tires is a weird creative vibe, but I get alot done because I can't check my email because of their limited wi-fi. But thats okay. haha. So if you don't hear from me this morning I am off to get the tires looked at. My hubby doesn't want to refill it anymore.. or rather like every morning anymore.

I have a few pictures from my hubby and son riding on Saturday. It was a lot of fun and yes in the back of a few of those pics is a train. Right there next to the arena. haha. Our horses jumped the first time and could care less the 4th and 5th time it went by.

Oh and I added a Tony Bennett song to my playlist up top. Love it. Adding songs to it took me a bit to figure out. So I will try to add the others in the next couple days as well.

So here are my guys hanging out on the fence line watching the team penning. At one point a lady squeezed in and moved a bunch of horses over in the line. And my sons horse being smaller backed out of the line on her own. And my son says. HEY HEY HEY!! and the other adults who had been hanging out with him all day said. Oh Sorry! Did we squish you out! And they all moved their horses butts over again and Dalen pushed his horse up on the line again. Dad was grinning from ear to ear. It got to be be Dalen got asked for good luck by some of the older guys we know and Dalen would yell the whole time they were in there... Go Eddy.. good luck. gettem. Go Go Go Eddy. things like this. it was cute.

This lady in this picture owns the arena below. My son told me last time we bought hay from her he was gonna marry her because she had lots of hay for his two horses. ha. Practicality is good, but I am not sure I would ask him to marry so we could get good hay at this early of an age. hahaha.
This picture above is Dad and Son playing around. My little one has to force his pony to go sometimes she would rather sleep. So he gets mad at her sometimes, but she is very forgiving when he pulls on her mouth. And knows I will come to her rescue and tell him to time out and calm down and how would he feel if someone was pulling on his mouth like that. Then he is very apologetic with his horse. Sits for a minute. And then starts anew with a better attitude. For a nag, she does press her luck sometimes and is stubborn. So he has a twitch on his saddle that he just picks it up so she can see it is there and she will do whatever he wants without question. I think the people before us really used the twitch on her unfortunately, but for us it means my son just has to pick it up and she will see it and go. And he doesn't ride her hard so all in all a happy relationship between the two of em. And this is the train next to the lot. Wow. It was closer then I realized when I looked at these pics.

And today is my Anniversary. I have been married to my fabulous husband for 7 years today. We did the unimaginable and stayed together the night before our wedding because we already lived together. And my favorite memory is my husband woke me up at 4 a.m. and said... JUST THINK IN 12 hours from now you will be Mrs. Durnan. you will be my wife. What a memory to cherish every year since when I woke up. My husband gave me a poem this morning that he wrote. It couldn't be a better gift. I love it. Things have been tough as of late, but he is always the person I can turn to. The one I can count on for a hug and a smile. Oh and he has dreamy eyes. hmmm. wonderful! And the man can dance and loves to dance with me. If I get a chance later I will post some of those wedding pictures. My husbands fear during the wedding... That I would ask him if he was drunk at the alter. Because we would have ended up in a fit of the giggles. The first time he said "I love you" to me, we were at a rodeo and heading for the dance, I looked at him and said "are you drunk?" and mentally I was kicking myself over and over. DUMB DUMB DUMB Chris! What stop saying that. Insert your foot into your mouth before you say one more word!! My internal dialogue was brutal. And he waited another 3 months to say it again. And it was the longest three months, but now it has been the best and the most wonderful 7 years.
