Prayers first and then The drama

It is the end of the day and I would like to sit down and post a creative thought, but I have a request first. I believe in the power of prayer and a friend and past Creative team member, Wendy Simmons is in need of prayers for her son. He was in an accident. I haven't the details and don't wish to pry I just am in hopes that you will help me in pushing prayers to their family and especially their son who has undergone some surgeries and is in a bit of pain because of the accident. If you have moment to send a prayer, I know she would appreciate it.

And now my reason for the drama part of the title of this post. I am off to sit with my hubby and help him through a dramatic moment..... favre playing in purple on his beloved vikings team. I hope the game isn't to long because I fear he may not make it through without a lot of comfort hahahahahah. So silly but it just makes me giggle there is a long standing packers vs viking duel in this family as I am a cheesehead. Well I am off to be the supporting wife. Haha my lip may bleed as I bite it because I like to watch Favre play.

Thank you all.

Enjoy!

Tidbits from this past week....

A week in review….

So this Friday I thought I would post some of the things that I have answered seen or done this week. Kinda of an incomplete list of nonsense… Enjoy!

New Software: Jing at http://www.jingproject.com/ LOVE IT! And Google Sketchup with a Sliceform Plugin. Do I have the time to figure out another software? Hm. It looks like fun.

Seen: A file by Lori that made me giggle, my son pull fly masks off horses by sitting on the bottom rail and saying “come here.. come here”, my beautiful niece giggle giggle giggle

A few sites I have perused during downtime:
http://www.hhugginsgirl.blogspot.com/ Just pure card inspiration!!
http://www.starfall.com/ a learning site for my son
http://7inchesfromthesun.blogspot.com/ a friends blog that is living in Chicago for a bit and my son is waiting for them to return

Quote:
“The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.” – Thomas Jefferson

Questions I have answered this week:
From my son:
“Can I go to the library with you Mom?” “Absolutely”

From a member of the forum:
“Where can I find the designers in the store contact info?” http://www.visualdesignsbychris.com/contributors

From my hubby:
“What do you want for dinner?” “Steak with Salsa and a Margarita”

From a friend:
“How come you don’t play Farmville on Facebook?” “Um… I don’t play any of the games or accept most requests other then friends. I play with my cutter files instead. Kinda lonely maybe but very gratifying”

From a Cricut user:
"Can I open your SVG file in SCAL?" You can open my SVG in Inkscape or AI or any SVG program. I offer a SCUT file for SCAL. Which means I have broken the file down into manageable pieces and imported into SCAL. you just open it and cut. No monkeying around involved. If you want to Monkey however... You absolutely can! You can download a test file from the forum. I'd love to see what you come up with.

From a Designer at the VDBC store:
"Can I set up my own sale?" "Absolutely set your own sale in the store."

What do I hope to be crafty with this weekend?
I hope to finish a recipe swap I am signed up for in the forum. And maybe do some Iron on tshirts.

What didn’t I get done this week?
Finish my blog changes.. I just can’t decide what I want so it is a slow progress. Please excuse the dust. and the pile of laundry (that I am not apologizing for. I rode horse instead. Hahah. We can always buy more underwear and socks).

QMC File status?
Yes we have 2 more zips uploaded to 4shared and the forum and I will work on more this afternoon.

My hope….
My hope is that this weekend we spend lots of time together and lots of that time giggling. And we can give Grandma a big hug on Sunday. And I get the RV cleaned out so it can hit craigslist. (I am dreaming on this last one.)

This was fun. Time flies. Kinda fun to think about everything we did this week. What would your list looks like?

Have a wonderful weekend!
Enjoy!

Jing jing jing

Nope.. It isn't Christmas with a jingle bell. It is the software jing. I downloaded it yesterday to make 5 quick tutorials and share them. It worked quickly, easily and was just fun. If you need to screen captures or window video, I highly recommend it. I also have snagit by techsmith and just have never gotten the hang of the screen video capture in it. The slim down version of jing is free. So stop on over and check it out. http://www.jingproject.com/ Techsmith really knows its stuff. I loveee software especially those that work easily and well. Have fun!

Enjoy!

PS My other software I love is preset viewer. If you are interested there is a coupon for it posted in the forum. Thanks Tumasoft for sending that my way to share!!

fun wet weekends...

So on Sunday my Creative Team Member and friend Karen called me to chat and I told her. I gotta go. I gotta fill up this bucket of water... Here is why..

This is what was waiting at my door, but I knew it because there was some serious giggling going on for that little one who just couldn't get the door open and needed me to "hurry hurry". haha.

So I went out to see if I could get a few more pictures and they saw me coming so my little one came back smiling from ear to ear.

We sure love to have fun!! Have a wonderful day!
Enjoy!

Bike Rodeo Pictures

So these are from a few weekends ago. I am a little behind in my pictures. The bike rodeo at the school. My son loved it because there police officers and firefighters everywhere. helping them air up their bikes, fix their helmets and the last stop was the obstacle course with the sprinklers at the end. A lot of fun and he was grinning from ear to ear when we left. It was nice to hear the police officer say... You shouldn't wear your helmet tipped back when riding. My first thought was ...Which applies to the horse riding helmet to! And which Mom says all the time, but well you know the police guy said it so now it is important. But all in all a great time and held at his school. Hope you enjoy the pictures. Have a great Monday!

Enjoy!

A day of lows and highs....

We went to a funeral yesterday and it was heartbreaking to see our friend lose his life at the age of 38. Such a short lifetime, but it was also impressive. Such a short life time, but the room was filled with probably more then 200 people all saying what an impressive man he was. That he "didn't know a stranger" and I can attest to this because when we first met him we spent two hours just chatting a joshing about life and telling some off color jokes. And the room was filled with family & friends from all walks of life. Ropers, 4h kids, family from afar, just all types of people gathered together to respect the life of a very happy family loving man. I will miss the fact that we won't run into him again and spend 2 hours chatting, but I am truly blessed to have met him and know that there are still those folks out there who would give you their last dollar to help you get home, support his family and friends, and smile and laugh and tell a funny story just to make the day a little brighter. He will be missed. John Trajanovich. You will be missed.

and then from there it was alot of driving for me yesterday... driving driving driving all the way to Tempe and back. But the driving back was the fun part because we spent it in our 2003 Ford F350 Super Duty Dually Diesel. We had been making two car payments and decided to roll those into one and get the truck to haul our horses with a little more confidence. And financially it cut our monthly costs in half. And on top of that my hubby has got the biggest cheshire grin going!!!! Fantastic... He has wanted a truck like this since I met him 11 years ago. So now he has it and I couldn't be more proud of him. And of course the kiddo story.... We get in and look at all the buttons while we are driving and my kiddo has flipped down the overhead dvd player and I go to put it up because we don't have one to play and it doesn't stick up... so I push again... And my son says.... "JUST SLAM IT" my Hubby says... "WHAT... we just got it.. don't slam anything yet" haha. Love it!

So it was a day filled with lows and highs which has just become another "day in the life". And today I hope to get more files completed for the QMC. Thank you to all those who stand by me. I appreciate everything you do for me and help me with.
Enjoy!
Chris

Playing with a virtual keyboard.

So this was fun to play with. My hubby brought it home to look at before taking it to a clients. A Dentist who wants to use it so he doesn't have to clean a keyboard. Just wipe the counter to alleviate germs. A laser keyboard. I had to turn the lights off to get a picture of it shining on the counter. Prettttty cool if you ask me. but I like gadgets. It is how I got into this whole cutter thing. And that is so awesome!

And BINGO is getting under way. Have you flexed your hands and loosened them up in preparation. Should be fun!!!

I am back to it. I have a few files for the QMC to finish up and a few more in the works. Also, a few specialized requests I have been working on. They take a little longer.

Have a wonderful wonderful day! And as always!
Enjoy!

Those who pass through our lives.

Well I write today with a heavy heart. A family we know within the horse community has unexpectedly lost their father. He was quick to offer a helping hand, offered many times to spend some time with my son to teach him to rope and invited us to his home. I feel for his family greatly and their loss. He was very involved with his children and 4H and horses. So with that take some time to appreciate those who you don't know very well, but that you know in passing because they are still a part of our journey. He has some great kids and his wife is super nice as well. We will say a prayer tonight as our heads hit the pillow that his love he obviously felt for his children and those around him will be felt throughout their lives and they will carry it on to others. May he rest in peace and his family find some peace within their hearts carried by memories.

Enjoy every moment today.

CATFISH!!

So I picked up my kiddo from school and his first comment was... The teacher didn't call you did she? And I said well No. But did you get in trouble. He says NO, but she was very serious. I told him what is most important to me is "how HE is" That is my priority. So I asked what the other kids did that they shouldn't have. Apparently after one little boy (We'll call him H) had his name called he yelled out Catfish. The appropriate answer would have been Here. My son told me it was the hardest ever to not giggle and that his stomach hurt so bad because it was funny, but the teacher immediately looked very serious. So he knew he should be very quiet. And so the teacher said... Let's try this again.... H... and the correct response was given. HERE. and the day moved on.

I told this story to my hubby later in the day and we just giggled over it. I can just imagine my son trying so hard not to giggle. I feel for the teacher, but it gave us a little giggle. Which is good because this morning my husband called me and said... "Okay I dropped him off a little early so he could play and I went to leave and I didn't want to. " I love my husband. I truly do we seem to feel and live the same emotions and we handle them together. It is hard for us to leave our little one. We wanted to get him to school just a little earlier so he would have a chance to make some friendships and play with the other kids. But we also stand there and think which teacher is watching which kids, who is watching the kids???? And we know they do this all the time. Children make it without their parents eagle eye. Totally get that. but this is my kid. My kid. hahaha. I said "Babe we are empty nesters at the age of 5" he laughed I laughed. We laughed and giggled. We are dealing with all the milestones in life and are sooooo proud of him, but it is a good thing we know how to laugh. We really love our life.

Have a wonderful day!!
Enjoy!

Just Easy Peasy!

Above are the pictures of the chef in the house. Whenever I get help cooking the chefs hat comes out. And even the puppy Freckles had to deal with it this time. And yes that is a Rockband drum set in the background. LOTS of fun!

Definitely was a wonderful weekend. We didn't have many set plans. We went to a friends house for his birthday and I forgot my camera. Our little one was the only child there because all of our kidsitters within the vicinity were out of town. but tis okay. He did really well and I packed him a new movie for his dvd player and his leapster. So hung out with the parents and ate some things and then went back to the guest bedroom and watched his movie. He doesn't really like the movie he just likes certain parts. So it was rewind, fastforward.. etc .. etc..

My little one and I went to McDonald's with Jan Bryson and her super cute daughters after my kiddo got out of school on Friday. It was a fun time for sure and a great start to the weekend. My son on the way told me that he had felt a little shy at school and making friends with the boys was kinda hard, but with the girls it was ... "easy peasy". I just slightly smiled and thought.. my hubby would be proud. good thing he wasn't with us and doing the driving or we might have driven off the road as he beat his chest in pride. haha. This is not the first time we have found the easy peasy effect in the works. We have had little girls give my son their numbers and lots of kisses. We shall see what life brings us in the future. I, myself, am going with the he is just friendly and nice and we will work it out when he is a teenager. haha.

So at McDonald's Jan and I chatted but the whole time she and I were in constant watch of the playground area. Other Mother's there ...not so much. To the extent that one child ran by grabbing himself in the potty stance. I thought. Yep kid needs the bathroom. Two minutes later a man is carrying a dripping little boy out the play area to the mother. Which I didn't even realize was his mother. I thought it was the other lady who picked him up twice when he fell down. hmmm.. well.. like I said it was awesome and fun to hang out with Jan and her wonderful daughters at McDonald's on Friday. My son left and said you know we could come again and I would play with Hailey Mom and make sure she was okay... I said "thanks honey that would be very nice of you" and I thought... "yep easy peasy". He truly is a great kid I couldn't be more blessed.

Have a wonderful day!

Enjoy!

Chris.
