For Fun, Just Add Water

Another Water Fun file... This item can be used in many ways or like I have it layered here. There is a boat with a few pieces to place on top to give it depth and charachter (windows and stripes on bottom) The words all cut as one piece and the mat cuts as one piece. And the wave is a repeat but flipped here for use in this file. This file is no longer available, but can be purchase HERE. I have changed the password it should be vacation. if you are one of the two or three that download before I get a chance to check it. give me a few seconds to check it out.
So the big question..... HAVE YOU VOTED YET?? We are at about 105 votes listed on the Paperthreads challenge. I get about 400 downloads a file now between the file types and approx 1000 hits on my blog every day! So maybe a few more votes would be awesome. Here is the link on Paperthreads to the forum. I am one of the few designers who has ventured forward on doing a challenge there. So if you can support it by voting I would greatly appreciate it.
Also, gotta say thank you for the verbage on this file! I knew I wanted to do a boat and yes I am working on a sailboat to. I have one of those sitting in my front yard also. thank goodness for acreage. but anyways. I knew I wanted to do a boat file and this verbage made me smile. Okay so Arizona has the highest number of boats per capita. Is that crazy since we live in the desert. The stewardess on the flights from phoenix to tucson give the information about flotation devices and you are thinking.... seriouslyyyyy is there water between here and there. And if there is will a plane actually fit into it. Well I am one of those. I have my step-dad's sailboat sitting here and my father-in-laws sitting next to it. The fish/ski boat we will be taking to the lake a few times this summer. So I am looking forward to it. We actually got a double tube this past xmas. Can't wait to ride two on that. Should be fun. We usually tow two tubes and throw eachother off. My little but bigger than me brother didn't realize I was serious and I threw him off the first time. lots of fun.
okay I am rambling and I gotta ton to do today still!
Enjoy!

Another Day in Paradise

So here I am back from vacation and trying to unpack and catch up with everything possible. todays download is a file with a few layers for today. This file no longer available for free download, but can be purchased HERE. It cuts in a few pieces. The words connected to cut in one piece and a mat. The sun, the water shape, the round cornered square background and a palm tree. Lots of ways to lay out all the pieces in a file. These files are for personal use only. Please do not share or alter and claim as your own.
And on to other things....
I had a great time in Wisconsin with my Dad, my husband and my son. When the men all went fishing I got to hang out on the patio in the very cool sun (compared to arizona) and read my book and relax. I tried hard not to check my email so I could recharge and get the creative juices flowing. I read three books in 5 days. Plane trips included, but I really enjoyed just relaxing and seeing family. I make the trek every year with my son and husband and love it. Time spent with my Dad is always wonderful and the weather although somewhat rainy was beautiful for the most part.
The voting!!! Have you cast your vote in the word book challenge. I think we are at 88 votes and I am hoping to hit the hundred mark. There are only a few more days left. So please take a second and cast your vote for one of the 4 ladies who decided to participate. This was my first challenge I have ever held and have a few ideas for others. I am pleased with the outcome of entries and hope to have future challenges also. Here is the link to go vote. So please take a moment and throw in your thoughts. password for freebie file is may.
I absolutely appreciate everyone who has purchased my files as well as downloaded freebies. It helps me to continue to offer things here for free. Thank you thank you Thank you.
Well I am glad to be back... I haven't had a chance to put the word out by hitting the groups. So if you want to post it out there, please do so. Here is the correct blog address.. http://visualdesignsbychris.blogspot.com/ For now I have to catch up on paperwork and will hope to catch up on email too. Then maybe if I get a chance today read some of the groups and the forum at Paperthreads. So off I go. See you tomorrow!
Enjoy!

**** Life *****
My son is so super excited about riding on a plane. He is ready to go. He has his backpack packed already with things he wants to play with. I, myself, not even close to being packed. I have been reading all those regulations regarding liquids etc for the medicines I need to take. Also, writing out the notes for our friend feed the animals here. THank goodness for people you can trust with your animals. They are like my children. Just 1200 lb children that walk on 4 legs.

I must tell you tho' .... so super excited about taking a trip with the hubby. Last year just two of us went this year it will be the three of us. Plane rides are much shorter when you are trying to entertain a child.

My Nan is getting ready for radiation. Thank you to everyone who has asked. She is ready to go. Knows she is going to be exhausted, but is ready to charge forward. Your prayers in thi smatter are always appreciated.

Okay I better run!
Enjoy the holiday weekend to all and be safe and careful!
Enjoy!
Chris

BTW... If you are still collecting gsd files and don't have a cutter yet, I have it on good knowledge the clearanced ones over at Paperthreads are gonna go soon. Not to many left in stock before the next model comes out with a higher price. They were out of stock, but now there are a couple more in as the inventory dwindles. Now is your chance... for a great price.

I ski, therefore I am

My apologies, I had this file ready yesterday. uploaded it and got ready to type in a quick note and a lightening storm hit and down went the internet/dsl. So here it is, a day late, but I hope you will like it.

I Ski, Therefore I am. OKAYYYY time for some summer files. I am trying to work on some summer vacation files that include the lake and the beach. If you have some great input or thoughts for these types of files, please post a comment here on my blog so I can read through them and see which way I am going. I have a jet ski and a boat and a few other pieces, but I just can't seem to think of titles to go with them. And even tho' you can use just the image to cut. I like to have titles. That way the file can be used in multiple ways. Any help, is always appreciated. This file is for personal use only! Please do not share or alter and claim as your own. The password is may. This file is No longer available for free download, but can be purchased HERE. This file has three pieces. one small wave for at the bottom, a skier, and a large wave with the words stenciled so it cuts in one piece. Enjoy!

So it is summer and scrapbooking sales are supposed to slump and go down and not be very good. All I know is my download numbers are going up and up and up. So I am hoping that will continue on to good sale numbers as well. My fingers are crossed. I wanted to thank everyone who also buys my files and downloads.

Thanks as always for great comments and great ideas! Keep 'em coming.

Enjoy!
Chris

PS I am slowly working on lots of the requests. For those looking for theirs, just takes me a bit to get them together some.

Don't Feed the Animals!

So this is the last one I have right now for the animal set. I have included all of these in a super pack at Paperthreads for anyone who has missed more then one.

This is two pieces. I layered them, but thought they might make a nice border along the bottom of a page.

Enjoy!
Chris

Personal use only! Please. Please do not alter, share or claim as your own. No longer available, but can be purchased HERE . Same password as last time.

My Mother's Day Card

So thought I would share this. My hubby and
son worked on it together for Mother's Day! Best Gift Ever.
This is the beginning of scrapbooking I think. ha!
This was the card I made for my Mom.

And this is a card I made for my Nan.

The cutter file was sent to me by Sandie.
I gotta say it came in the knick of time
for Mother's Day. Wew. Thank you Sandie.

Enjoy!
Chris

Tall Tales

Just two more pieces in the zoo set to go. Yeah! I have been working on other creations, but wanted to give you the whole set.
This one is three pieces. the words tall tales, the giraffe in silhouette and the giraffe with spots cut out. You can overlay the two pieces or not.

What do you think of my "packaging"? trying to make my files stand out some in the store at Paperthreads.

What a great weekend! I didn't look at the computer much. I hung out with the hubby and my son and helped hang some shelving in our bedroom, cleaned out some of my craftroom, did laundry and the usual. Sunday we stopped by to see my Nan and she was sitting up and enjoying the golf game on tv and my Gramps was hangin out to which was good. Then we went to see my in laws. Love that family. Kids went swimming, I was a fuddedud because I only let Dalen stay in a little with his cold/croup. I think he is getting better. Not as many coughs last night as previously. I didn't want to cook on Mother's Day so we stopped at AJs and got a couple sides and one of them was potato salad. It was so good that a few of the family members said it was good enough to put in place of my own. I make potato salad for family functions usually and if I show up and I have bought potato salad in protest it won't get eaten. RRR. So when I don't feel like cookin I will stop at AJs and get some of their potato salad. WOooohooo! I don't mind cooking, but some days. I just don't want to. Also, after picking out the salads. I asked my hubby if he wanted to see if there was something for desert. Sure...so off wanders my two boys. By the time I walked over there my son's eyes were as big as saucers. Hubby says He wants the fruit tart. The most beautiful fruit tart I have ever seen with strawberries, blue berries, raspberries, kiwi, and black raspberries. So we got it and took it to Grandma's house. Everyone there oohed and ahhed. It was delish. Of course I didnt eat the crust, just the filling and the topping. But that fruit was perfectly ripened and the two white chocolate sticks helped to. yum yum.

Well onto the download because I need to get everyone here moving. Lots to do today. Going to go see my Mom and wish her happy mother's day. Her theory is. I am a mother to. So I don't have to see her on the day. Which is nice because I'll go see her today and take her grandson and guess what.... that will be all that matters. I made her a card which I took a picture of and will post at the gallery at Paperthreads and here.

Well I better run...

Oops the download... for Personal Use! See the Terms of use file. This download is no longer available, but can be purchased HERE.

Enjoy!

PS Thank you to everyone for the Mother's Day comments! It made me smile to see them all this morning when I logged in. Thank you Thank you. password is may.

Where's My Coffee?

I revisited the Lion and this is what he likes he is saying to me today. So Here it is. Okay so this is three pieces. you can use or not use the lion's head. And the where's my coffee? cuts in one piece with the mat underneath cutting in one piece also. Password is may. The downloads are here... GSD * WPC these files are for your very own personal use and not for everyone's personal use. Please direct people to my blog for the download.

My Nan came through surgery and looks liek the cancer has not spread. Thank you to everyone for those positive words & prayers. Forward on we March through radiation.

Today is my day off. Woohoo! At home. I have a few feels I want to clean up before I offer you. I gotta say my downloads are going quick quick. So if you notice they are on tighter time constraints that is why.

I have a few more safari/zoo animal titles to get out there. And then I am on to a new topic. I have a few in mind and thank you to everyone as always for their wonderful suggestions. I keep them in a log and keep working through them all. When giving me ideas, if you can give me some titles or "bumper sticker" sayings then it helps me to direct what I am working on. But if you just have an idea then that is fine to.

Well it is almost the weekend! Woohoo!

Enjoy!
Chris

PS Spent 10 minutes in front of the freezer with the door open last night with my son. He was coughing so hard. It totally helped. Thank you mucho for that great tip.

Life in General

So just one of those days. Probably won't be a download today. My Nan is still in surgery and we hope to know something soon. Appreciate all the positive comments and the positive prayers. It is fantastic. My son has croup (sp?) and I feel quite icky. So he and I both need a nap. I have tried to put something together to offer and just can't seem to focus. So have a wonderful evening! And I will see you tomorrow.

Monkeyin' Around

Okay. So you guys had such a great idea for the last file. I had to use some of those to create a few more pieces. Which is awesome cause then I can put up individual files, but also a super pack with a bunch in one. Okay so people always ask me how do I get the bottom layer. I just took the second layer here and twisted it way out of wack from the rest of the pieces. Okay and also I hope you think the monkey is cute. He took me forever to play with. His hand ended up huge.. but ehh. maybe it adds to his charm.

These files are for your personal use. Please do not share or alter and claim as your own.

So this is Wednesdays file. Thursday my Nan goes into the hospital and we shall see what Thurs may bring. If all goes well there will be another file. If not so great, I will be out of commission for a few days.

Thank you to all the great comment ideas. How fantastic. When I am working on a project I usually have an idea for it and it is hard sometimes to get past that idea. So all the added ones really helped me out! Also, Shae sent me some great background pics. And Sandie sent me a file for my Nan. Both made me smile and were just awesome.

Also, we have a new Namebook Challenge entrant by Mavu. Woohoooo! So excited. So check it out! Also, if you want to email me the pictures files, I will be posting them on my blog for the voting so people can vote. So dont forget to send me the pics as well. HERE is the link for the challenge gallery.

And the downloads.... No longer available for download, but can be purchased HERE. Password is the same as the last post.

You guys have made my day with your comments and your great emails.

Thank you to everyone!

Enjoy!

Zoo Safari Animals

Today's Download. This is a file with a few pieces for the trip to the zoo or any layout project. When working on drawing the lions face, all I could think about was a friend of mine had a chow that when she woke up the disgruntled face was much like this one. I was trying to think of a list of ways this file could be used to post at the Paperthreads forum. Other then the usual going to the zoo. So here are some of my ideas. and If you have some ideas to, please post them to the comments so I can add to the list... I started out with....

1) Chow Dog layout with the lion and his great mane
2)My Sons first halloween costume as a lion (Super Cute)
3) Put together a mini zoo scrapbook for when I take my nieces
4) Animal learning book
5) Use them to do an alphabet book with the Name/Word Book letters
6) Elephant Ride Scrap Page from the Fair
7) Monkeyin Around Page with the Monkey
8) Use Giraffe on edge of invite for Kids Bday Party
9) Use Giraffe to notate trip to certain Toy Store. (Yes I took my camera the last time, My Son was like in awe.. look Mom.. look.. how could I ever capture that bewildered the world is awesome look any other way. Well there are lots of other ways cause he is a giggly happy and silly kid. we love it)
Great Inspiration ideas to use from our downloaders!!!!
Thank you Thank you for everyone's comments. Keep 'em coming. I'll try not to miss any.
10) -Lions and elephants at the circus-
11)Using the lion to play around with lying around or telling lies-
12)Layouts for the safari ride at Disney
13) Wizard of Oz layouts for the Monkey and Lion

And a super fantabu comment!
these are fantastic...no lion!!

You add yours to my comments and I will keep adding it to this list.

Your creativity helps me be creative and inspires me. So if you come up with something let me know.
Okay so I am nervous cause there havent been any other posts to my challenge. I hope some out there are going to enter. However, I am sure Joni is ecstatic about not seeing any other entries. She could have a clean sweep win.
Great comments lately. As always. I have such greatttt downloaders.
-Thank you to Trish for the great comment. Glad I can make someone smile in the middle of the day!
-And Shae I would love to see the background image you made from the Giraffe Patterns. I was trying to come up with a pattern that you could double layer for the spots on a giraffe and make a unique paper for the background of a page. I would love to look at it. to help me visualize.
So on to life in general. What a great day! I am in the office. My truck is in the shop getting a lookilu cause the Air isn't working. This is not functional when you live in Arizona. Supposed to be 92 tomorrow. by the time it hits 84 I have pink cheeks every time I step out the door. My son is the same way. So hopefully the cost won't kill me, but it will either be the heat or the repair bill that does me in. I found a great place I take my truck. They are easy going old school mechanics. I love it! Last time I was there they hauled the part out and put it on the counter. That's from your truck. I was like COOL. Glad to know you actually replaced it and didnt jip me like the last place. But that is another story for another day....
Okay so here is the link for the download. No longer available for download, but available for Purchase HERE. Please remember these are for personal use! I have a terms of use. If you need to see it and read it in it's entirety to understand that. Please click on the link on the right and check it out. Password is still may.
Otherwise! Have a fantastic day!
and of course
Enjoy!

Life in General.. love it..

Okay so what a great weekend! Lots of time with family. Got to see my niece and help her celebrate her bday! It was lots and lots of fun.

One of the most awesome things is Lori, a designer at Paperthreads, used one of my files for a layout. Wooohoo! I love it. I created the file for my son who is three and had fallen down and gotten some bumps and bruises. Lori used it for her husband. So it is good to know that the file can span the gap when it comes to men. From three tooooooo.. any age. I gotta give a quick thanks to Lori for using my file. She is a new designer at Paperthreads and working on her files to get uploaded to the store. There are a few there, but I am sure there are many more to come!
Here is the file, but you can also check it out and rate it at Paperthreads Gallery.

And so I have been receiving emails about the Easy Wishblade group. The yahoo group has been removed, however, there is another version at Easy Wishbladers at Yahoo. Attended to by pretty much the same group of people. That is all I plan to add to the matter. So, if you want to find that group of people, do a search of Easy Wishbladers.

The Sale at Paperthreads was awesome! Thank you to all of those who took the time to patronize my files there and help me to stay on track offering my freebie files daily. When you miss one and purchase it. I greatly appreciate it. Helps me in my software addiction. haha. I just got Illustrator CS3. I have 10, but was so anxious to upgrade and decided to bite the bullet and do it. I haven't loaded it on the computer yet, but am thinking about doing a clean wipe and starting from scratch again to unclog my computer. But it is alot of work and would be have to be done over the weekend.

Okay so were you thinking holy cow, where is my free download. I am working on the finished file and will post the link here later today. Here is the image and I will soon update the post with the link. I had to mess with the cuts on it a little. I am working on a Safari/Zoo animal set. This is part of it. password is may. Thank you again to everyone who helps in the groups with questions about my blog! Much appreciated.

Tis Monday, Enjoy!

April Showers...

It is almost the weekend wooohoooo!!!

So do you know tomorrow is National Scrapbooking Day? Seems like my emailbox is full of sales and coupons regarding it. So tomorrow is also Cinco De Mayo which is a big thing down here where I live. And it is even bigger because it actually falls on the weekend. There will be lots of Margaritas toasted. Makes me kinda wonder, so seriously, who decided to put a hobby where you use scissors and cutters with a holiday that you serve tequila laden drinks. wewwweeee. Could be an interesting combination. If you decide to celebrate both be careful! But have lots of fun.

Today's files is "Aprils Showers Bring May Flowers". Here in the desert we have to create our own showers at times, hence the watering can added to this file. So there is a 4 piece flower, The words connected so they cut as one and a mat. Also included some "raindrops" and a watering can. This download is no longer available for free download, but is for sale on Paperthreads HERE. (woops I missed this... password is may)

Usually I miss the weekends, but I am pretty sure looking at my day I will have a post tomorrow morning. So don't forget to check it out.

Have a great weekend and Enjoy!

Squ Set Extras, Star, Smile, Horse, Key

Here are the Extras for the Square Set. Included are the Star, Smile, Horse, Key. The password is the same as the previous post.
These are for personal use only!. This the last of my namebook extras. So finish up your books and get them entered in the challenge! Details are at the link on the top right of my blog.
Okay now that the official stuff is done. Gotta say thank you for such great comments yesterday. I was trying really hard to get a file up and my son just wanted to read and spend some time together and so I just dropped everything. And we read two books, played race cars and swam in his little tiny hard sided blue pool. He got a new pair of goggles and wore them around for forever in protest that he wanted to swim and not pick up the house. He kept reminding me by saying. "These are cool goggles. Huh momma?" with his cute dimple grin. He has a dimple on the top of this left cheek. When he wants something he just smiles enough for it to pop out. I love it. He, also, is very good at doing the "Please" with the tilted dog head move. Like when a dog knows your talking to them and is totally placating you by twisting it's head back and forth. I would have to believe the dogs do that when they understand what I am saying because otherwise I have had alot of one-sided stupid conversations with dogs in my life. Okay, first two days of "school". Otherwise known as daycare. He loved it. He played with bubbles, read books, sang songs, danced, played with playdog, ran around, swang on the swing. And he is absolutelyyyyyy exhausted by the time I pick him up. 4 hours of straight play. He is starving and exhausted. It is wonderful. I am glad he likes it. Thanks to everyone for their positive words. First entry is up in the Challenge forum for these namebooks. Check it out! It definitely has an Idol feel to it!!!
Okay I better get to it. Lots to do.
Enjoy!
Chris
File no longer available for download, but may be purchase here with the entire set.. Here.
PS. I got the request for the boat and am working on a Lake Set. With a boat, jetski, skiier etc. I will be getting them out in the next week or so. I am also working on the ferret request, but don't like what I have come up with so far. So scrapped everything and started again. The Lacrosse file is in queue to be uploaded to Paperthreads for the lady looking for it.

Been a busy one!

I am running a little bit behind today so I don't have a download ready. I have a bunch of files, but I have to sit down and give them all a cut before I offer them.

My apologies to those who have visited more then once. I have been trying to get it there and have come to the conclusion that I can't fit it all in today.

Enjoy!
