2 year old Birthday Parties...

So this past weekend was my niece's birthday. She turned two and it was alot of fun with family. Here is a picture of my sister and sister-in-law with our kiddos. My sister is on the right and her daughter is the little girl. My nephew is the little boy on the left and my sister-in-law. The kiddos wouldn't stop chowing. So we all just smiled for the camera. It was turtle cake. Pretty cool.

Then the opening gifts is always cute. My niece runs up opens one and then takes off again and plays. She wouldn't stop moving and couldn't concentrate on one piece of "loot"
This is my nephew with my son's Bobby Hat on and that is a vaccuum pipe from a "clean like mommy" set for a pretend vaccuum. my son was in love with the whole set. My BIL was putting it together and it was amusing to watch because he would grab one piece and stick it together and another piece would wander away in a little kids hands and then migrate back and my BIL would stick it together a little more. Finally when done they all went to clean the kitchen floor. My kiddo asked me for the toy as well. Giving me all the reasons why he needed it. I commented that if he wanted to clean he could use any number of "actual cleaning" things we have like the vaccuum.. etc...etc.. I got a roll of the eyes. haha. I guess pretend is more fun.

Here is my nephew also look into the squirt gun like it had a scope on it. haha.

This is my sister's Turtle cake. It had sneakers on it. Soooooo cute. She always makes the cakes for my son. This cake was super fun!

This is my Aunt Gillian and Uncle Mark.
I need to take them up on their offer of kid sitting so we can go dancing! Happy Smiles there.
Well that's it for Birthday Party Pics. I tried to get pics of my niece, but she wouldn't stand still for a moment, but she hads lots to keep up with. lots and lots of fun!
Enjoy!

A little tape goes a long way... or at least til the roll runs out.

So this past weekend, my son who tries to fix everything like Dad and draws out plans for the details and sketches for building robots, rabbit traps, forts, jailes. He uses the ruler and draws them all up... well anyways.. my son walks by me with tape. He loves tape. What is it with kids and tape? I buy myself a new container of tape I by one for him because if it is on the counter it is as good as gone. He walks by me and out the door. Door slams... So I get up and go to get the camera because I am sure it is good. Tape outside.. hmm.. I really hope the dog is okay... So I open the door and this is what I see...
So I am good for a little game... "What ya doing?" I know this tire is flat. (I have such an uncanny ability to get flat tires that if I could wrap it up with my ability to shrink clothes. I am sure I could rule the world or at least jump start the economy trend with all the clothes and tire replacements.. anyways)... My son says very matter of fact.. like duh! didn't you see me walk out here with the tape... " I am fixing your tire. It just needs air and you're good to go" So I told him "well smile so I can take a picture of you fixing my tire." and tried not to giggle. So here he is with tape and fixing the tire...
Here is the tire with all the holes he could find repaired. Yes, I am out of tape to wrap my nieces bday present. I hope he doesn't notice me snage two pieces to tape the ends. And we are waiting on Dad to get home and run the air compressor. All I can say is... Maybe I'll buy my little one some Duct tape for Christmas. MacGyver here we come! Love my life!
Enjoy!

Blackhawk Grins!

What did I do last weekend? hmm.. I slept alot of it. Saturday was busy and fun, but Sunday I think not resting even tho' I felt yuck all week... it all hit me. I am ready to be healthy again. Just ridiculous. So I am still catching up today (Tuesday) from the weekend, but not to bad.

I picked up my kiddo from school today and he was super excited to tell me all about the BlackHawk that landed at their school and how incredibly windy it was. He thought it was darn cool. I took this picture of the fence to have for him as we were leaving midday. He told me all the statistics on it. Was fun to hear his excitement. Totally a boy! Love it.

More tomorrow....

Enjoy!

And continuing on with our pictures. We went to the pumpkin patch and it was windy. My hubby was gonna take my picture so I am trying to get my sunglasses up on my hair to stop the wind blowing it and also I like to see eyes in pictures. Pictures with a bunch of sunglases never appeal to me. SOOOO ...

then when I go them up my stinker kid decided he was gonna block me anyways. so it ended up with him on the floor of the trailer and me tickling him. other mothers there were looking at me like I was crazy and disturbing the peace, but I didn't care. It was fun!

These field was just full of sunflowers and justbeautiful. I love sunflowers.

In the search for the perfect pumpkin...

Found it..

Yep here it is!!!
Then we went to the orchard and had some fudge, but first we twisted a jump rope which my son uses to rope the dog, his Dad, me.. probably not as the guy intended, but lots of fun.

We ended the day with apple pie and ice cream for the guys and fudge for me. Great great day and weekend. Have a wonderful day!
Enjoy!

Corn Maze and Corn Bath? Pool?

So continuing on our adventures from the weekend. Here's my guys on the tractor on the way to the pumpkin patch, but first we went to the corn maze. My son has his hat tweaked her a little and pushed down because it was windy!

So here we are at the start of the corn maze. We have our list of helpful hints and are on our way. My son is excited because we pretty much followed his lead. He led us left and right and right and left. And answered questions at these little stops.

And then we finally made it to the exit. It was lots of fun and our kiddo was so excited to get there.
And then after that we went to wait for the pumpkin patch tractor. My son remembered this big stock tank with dried corn kernels in it and again this year didn't want to leave the "corn pool". Greg and I just hung out and chatted while he played in the bin. there were no kids and then a bunch of kids and finally we got my kiddo to get out. But he just loves it. and even brought home some corn with him. On the tractor ride I shook his hips and corn fell out of the bottom of his pants. And today when doing laundry I was throwing it away as well. Corn + stock tank + kid = just good silly fun!

Enjoy!

My favorite guy!!

Those who visit the forum have seen me sign off with.. off to haul the horses to the buckle run. Well this past Friday was the last night of the buckle run for Ranch Sorting. The first time my hubby has signed up for one of the Buckle series and he came in Second. So very proud of him!! We had a great evening. My son took his new pony in for the first time and she and he did awesome!! She will definitely test his ability to ride and teach him patience and has more potential then our other pony. So it was just an all around great evening!

And this is me and my cutey cowboy. I am exhausted, but totally lovin' him. My kiddo didn't do to bad takin' a picture.
This is Shannon She won the first spot with Todd the guy who runs the show at the arena. Shannon has been working on this buckle for a long time. So she was super happy and excited to win. Interesting how people cross your path again in life. Shannon used to team pen where my hubby did when he and I started dating 11 years ago. Just a fun lady and glad to have run into her again in life.

Well that was our winning Friday night. The next series won't be for a bit, but we'll keep going just to hang out with the fun people. And I can get some better pics and video of my guys riding because it is switching to the winter schedule.
Enjoy!

My weekends do's..

Here are a few of my weekend do's that I can show you because the rest I will show the week after Christmas. Can't show those sneak peaks to0 soon. :-) Never know who's reading.

In our house the socks just seem to lose their mate. They end up thrown in the drawer and lost forever. So I took them all and put those missing mates in this bucket I got at the horse auction for three dollars. The back side of the bucket is flat so I can put it on the shelf and push it all the way back. I used some vinyl scraps and cut it to put this little saying on it to emphasize the purpose of the bucket. kinda fun. We made decorated pumpkins for Grandma and Nana and we are using the left over stickers to mail Grandpa a card. I gave my son the stickers, glue stick, and the circle cut out from something else I had loose in my scrap basket. I have them to my kiddo and this is what he came up with. I was impressed with his balance and deciding to put the words on the brown oval. He wanted to write Happy Halloween. So he asked his Dad for helping spelling Halloween because he already had Happy(which you can see below) It thrills me to see him try and spell and read. Just thrills me.

Well hope you like our little projects. The ones I can share before the holidays!

Enjoy!
Chris

Needless to say.. I am a little behind today and hope to catch up quickly. So if I am scarce you know where I am .. working on those cutter files!! I have a bunch in the works... WOOHOO!! A weekend in picture review....

Here is my Nan in her "Bobby hat" , which is the british police or guard as some folks call it, on her birthday. My Mom was born in Liverpool England. So we have an affinity for british items. Luckily my BIL brought this for my son and my Nan thought she would try it on. It was a wonderful evening.

This is my Kiddo helping Nan blow out the candles. Behind that is my Mom and cutey patootey niece.

And on Saturday we went to a versatility horse sale. As you know last week my son's horse was hurt. It is a long standing injury and my hubby and I are not sure when she will be 100% again for him to ride. Nor are we the type to dope a horse up to make it ride. Basically she faces Suspensory Ligament Dematitis so in laymen's terms it would be much like your ligaments in the back of your leg fraying and breaking apart and as you stand on the other leg to get relief in one you will cause it to happen in the other. 4 years ago a very told me I would put her down within 6 months because she wouldn't be able to walk. but thanks to a good shoer and prayers she has been good to us. Last Tuesday she has shown obviously in pain and not doing well. My son is very interested in riding right now and I don't want to delay that while his injured horse waits to heal. Riding horses on the weekends is what we do. So we came across this little sweety in the arena who was being ridden by an 11 year old and had been trained to ride by him. She has the calmest personality. Because she is a registered quarter horse my son can also compete in some of the quarter horse only events we sometimes go to .

She is about the same height as the other. And did fabulously with my son. He has pronounced her name to be "Tulips" She will require he ride a little better and be a little less heavy handed in her mouth. This is a good thing. She is super cute and just a little brown mare (girl). We were lucky to find her right now and will be riding every night so she can go on Friday night to the sorting. This picture below is a happy little boy and very proud Dad watching him try her out.

And here are the three of us on horseback at the same time. And with our neighbor around to take the picture. I think I need some photoshop techniques to thin that girl out a bit more, but for now. Here we are on horseback. Love my life!

This is my MIL and FIL. They called Saturday and asked us to visit a local nearby town and walk their arts festival. This is right up our alley I love craft fairs. The two of them looked super cute on this rock while they took a break. So I had to get the picture. Yes that is my MIL who was in the hospital. She has the spirt and desire to be active and happy and my FIL is right by her side. She has the "Ganas" which loosely translated in spanish means "the desire to do something" It is inspiring. It was a nice couple hours just to hang out in cooler Patagonia. (and Mr. Lopez my spanish teacher from high school would be happy to hear that word stuck with me from his teachings! He was also the softball coach and pounded that word into us! it stuck)
Lots of neat things at the Patagonia Festival. I actually got a gluten free wrap with goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes, cucumber, veggies in it. It was goooood! And a gluten free spiced sugar cookie. Also yummy! Lots of interesting craft booths! Well worth the quick jaunt and then home to ride horses.
well have a great Monday!!! I better get some work done! Hope you enjoy my picture show.

Enjoy!

Tis Friday... woohoo!!

Happy Birthday today to my Nan she is 80 today. I told my 5 year old this this morning and his comment was.. "Is that possible? Maybe she's 60" Apparently 60 to a 5 year old is a slightly more attainable age. Either way I am glad she is celebrating and we will all be getting together this weekend to see her. This picture below is my Nan on the left with my kiddo and on the right is my mom "Nanna" and my niece.

Also, my MIL is home and out of the hospital. Thank you for all your prayers. My son is anxious to go see her as he couldn't while she was in the hospital. So sometime this weekend we will do that.
And we have a few horse things to do. How exciting. We are still keeping an eye on my son's pony to see how she does. Will take a little recouperation time, but then I hope she does fine.

After all the hoopla of the party, I have some files coming together for the QMC. And if all goes well they will be posted this afternoon. Woohoo! Again I am working off the topic request in the forum for the QMC.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Enjoy!

And lots of hugs....

So I am here today hanging out with my kiddo. He is pretty upset we went to ride last night at the sorting and he was ready and excited to go but his horse came up lame. She has a pretty severe old injury, but we manage it and she wasn't doing so great last night. I put the horse up to eat by the trailer and went and held my kiddo who just tore my heart up with his tears. When she was done eating we tied her in the arena and he just hung out with her for the rest of the night. So today I am finishing work as quick as possible and he and I are gonna go work with another horse we have and see if we can get him ready for him to ride for the sorting night coming up in a few weeks. We have the best shoer so we will see what we he can do on Thursday night. 4 years a go a vet told me we would have to put her down probably within 6 months and we are still working with her. We just take it easy on her and my son is very light ride. Pretty upsetting for him. My hubby rode pretty well, but I think he was a bit distracted without having his riding partner. My son told me half way through the night that he gave her a kiss and a hug so she would be ready to go soon. With the loss of a puppy fresh, the word "vet" makes him even more upset. I told him she was our responsibility so we will do the best we can by her. And he said.." and lots of hugs. " Love my kid.

Good news tho' my MIL is headed home today. She is excited and so is everyone else. so that is fantastic.

Today is the day that if you won one of the prizes I was giving away you need to PM me your email, mailing address and the challenge you won in the forum. thank you so much. I am still trying to recoup from so much fun.

Have a wonderful day..
Enjoy!

Carveable art deco pumpkin maybe.. hmm...

Okay see this cheesy smiling kid. Well he has been home with me all day. (Cute School picture huh) He is on school break. and that cheesy grin is a busy little boy. So I am running really late today because I promised him he could cook so we had to run to the store. And of course we aren't making pizza rolls. We are making baked pumpkins with "stuff" inside. Our stuff is hamburger, potatoes, onion, rosemary, sage.. that kinds thing... So this is the file I have for today. Carmen a member at the forum posted these fantastic pumpkins on her facebook page. I wanted to try one with a collar at the top. Well it went all right, but difficult when you have 4 hands tinkering with the vinyl and apparently you have to keep lifting the transfer tape to make sure the vinyl is stuck. haha

so we have a few spots that are not so perfect and here is my sons input... Because everyone pumpkin needs a nose and a smile. pretty cute.

I will add more at another time and probably make a second. I just wanted to get some quick pictures for the blog.

Was fun to do and the pumpkins are baking so it smells better then the foam the pumpkin we decorated is made out of haha. So we have added ambience with our food. The vinyl is actually brown. Everything seemed to move slowly today. But I have some green vinyl as well I got cheap at Lowe's not to long ago. I think it was Wallies stuff. It feels just like the Cricut vinyl. So I am gonna pull that out and finish it off probably. Love my kiddo. love my life.
