Coaster Album and Easy Cheap Lightbox

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO DOWNLOAD
THE QMC 2nd quarter 2009 files. please do so.

A little show and tell today. I made this coaster album for a friend of mine. I asked her to grab some coasters when she went out to eat and she keeps giving them to me everytime I see her. SWEET!! So I made her a coaster album. There is room for more pages. I punched the hole with my new big bite cropadile and first time I officially used Stickles. Wow. Just wow. Okay and Wow. love it.

Many ask me what I do for pictures. I used to take them on the kitchen table. Then I looked into lightboxes and I have a few issues. I don't want to give up anymore space in my craft room for a light box. I didn't like some of the sizes for the lightboxes and I am a cheapo. So I came up with this. I purchased a white project board. Those ones that have two sides stand up on their own and can be used for science fairs. I cut the side and creased the back. So when I want to take it out. It takes me just a few seconds to fold it and put little paperclips overlapping the edges so it stays in place and I already had the lights under my cupboards. So I talked to my Aunt In Law and she showed me the settings on my little digi camera to change the white balance. I must confess I never really went past the point and click. There are a lot of buttons that thing.

So that is my easy peasy cheapo lightbox and when it gets dirty I will just buy a new board. It isn't the high tech photography photos but it met most of my needs and requirements. I have been told by a friend I should get a small light to point up from the front of it. but I am okay with the results for now.
Have a wonderful day!
Enjoy!
Chris

QMC, things I remembered and realized on vacation.. life..

Business first... I am taking the QMC with early bird files for July-Sept out of the store this weekend and putting up the straight QMC for the remainder. If you want to join and get more files for the dollars then now is the time to join and quickly!

And now on to life...

Our view from the hotel balcony in CA. Very nice

Lots of fun for sure.

Things I realize and remembered on vacation…

-You should always put sunblock on your lips. If you don’t yowser you will have a swollen lip. Apparently I won't need lip injections. My lip felt huge. my hubby said WOW (with an evil grin) when I woke up when morning and could feel my lip was swollen. So I chased him around the suite with my scary lip and a pillow. I'll Pow him with the pillow for that wow.
-I love my family! My in laws include me so much they feel like my family and are my family it is wonderful!
- I may have been thinking about getting cable again, but after one weekend of it and watching my son watch. I still don’t want cable tv.
- I really love my home. We were so happy to get home!
- It is hard not to check email every day. Thank goodness for my blackberry. (Yes Lori I am addicted)
- I miss those I chat with in the forum regularly.
- I am digging the fruity martinis.
- I forgot to take the QMC down with the early bird files before I left So I will be taking it down the weekend I get back.
- I love to hang out with my hubby and my son. We just have fun together.
- I love to only hit one theme park on vacation and take it easy for the rest.
- Love to watch my hubby and son interact with new experiences. Like feeding Sea Otters and Stingrays. So fun.
- I love my digital camera. I panicked because I thought mine got wet and wasn’t going to work. Ended up being a dead battery. So I snagged an “old school” disposable for half of the sea world day. I let my son use up the rest of the pics. So I am interested to see what he came up with in shots.
- I am bummed I didn’t sketch out my ideas and am trying to get them down in thoughts today before I forget them all.
- I for the first time ever loved the bed at the place we stayed. My hubby and I decided we might call and ask them what brand mattress was in the room because it was the first ever we both loved. Can you tell we need a new mattress.
- I love my nieces. Their giggles and smiles just make my day. To hear them giggle in a fit of exhaustion at the end of the day was the best!!!
- My hubby is fun to share a nice dinner with. And my son is the best for dealing with it by being good and hanging out with us when he’d rather run like mad and play.
- Life is awesome! Love my life.

And now I am off to get the horses ready and loaded for the evening and meet my hubby at the Team Sorting with trailer, child and horses in tow.

Have a great weekend!!
Enjoy!
Chris

A view of the beach....

Hey Folks... I type to you today from a window overlooking the ocean. We are having a wonderful time so far. Although I am worried about our little family of animals at home our house/pet sitter and friend says they are doing just fine. So that means... Off to the beach we head as soon as all the nieces and my kiddo get it all together. Oh no wait. That is as soon as I finish something with caffeine in it. I just wanted to stop in and check a few emails before we head out to the beach for the day. Have a wonderful weekend!!

Enjoy!

party Hats, father's day... and off we go..

Here is my kiddo and my niece celebrating my birthday with party hats! Aren't they cute! My Aunt is a big party hat fan. Me... hmmm... Not so much. It just emphasizes the fact that I could have a few pounds to lose because now the string on the hat has caused a roll under my chin. Wow. Under my chin. Yes I am not really a party hat person. There has to be a phobia name for that. We had wonderful Salmon for dinner and Gluten Free Chocolate Cake freshly made by my Mom. was wonderful!! Went home tired and happy.

So today we went shopping for the Father's Day gift. We will be out of town for Father's Day so my kiddo has decided he wants to give Dad his Father's Day present early. because well.... We have a playstation 2 here. He and I wandered through the store over and over front to back and have been searching for the perfect gift for a weeek or two now when we go to the store. He finally settled on an old PS2 star wars game and was adamant it was the one he wanted to get for Dad. And to go along with the theme found a card that plays the star wars theme song. And some may worry that I am posting this and my hubby will read it. He has told me many times he doesn't read my blog because...... :::drumroll please:::: HE LIVES IT! :: what's he trying to say? I could take that negatively. but I think I will just take it at face value. he lives it. So he must love it as much as me. haha. Maybe not the PMSy parts, but I can't stand those parts either. But anyways. my son is proud of his choices and he just sat down and wrote Dad on the front envelope all by himself and his name in the inside. and I did a little tweaking to the card so it says Happy Father's Day to Dad and not Happy Father's Day to a son. because it had the right star wars music and we haddddd to get it. haha. so I am waiting for the Marker to dry. Why do kids love Marker so much? Kinds like when someone gets their nails done and blows on it. but I am inhaling marker fumes and waving it and praying it will dry some time soon so I can put it in the envelope. The game has been wrapped. It has been wrapped in two pieces of bright yellow drawing paper with packaging tape and blue painter's tape (because I use this on my cutters we have a lot of blue tape around here) It really is a work of art in itself. I think the yellow paper may even be taped to the packaging wrap for the game. hmmm. I might have to video tape the hubby opening this and post it on here. haha.

anyways. it has been a great week and I have been taking it easy as June was supposed to be my month of rejuvenation. I have my little notebook packed for sketching on our trip. I am very excited for some time with family. our plans include sea world, San Diego model train museum, beach, seafood dinners, maybe seaport village and just being together. can't wait. So I will chat with you all when I get back.

Lots of folks in the forum to answer any questions. I can't wait to see all the cutter file challenge entries when I get back. If you have any questions, I will return them when I get home.

Have a wonderful weekend!
Enjoy!

Guess what???

Tomorrow is my birthday my birthday!!!

I have been doing this now for almost a year... The Wishlist Giveaways!

I though to celebrate I would pull a few more wishlists and send them their files. I will be posting them in the forum.

Unfortunately, I cannot send other designer's files out (I am not sure they would appreciate that haha), but will pick a few of my own to send for those who have made a wishlist. So make sure your list is up to date and you don't have to many you have already purchased on there.

I like to give files away so it is fun to be able to do when I know exactly what someone wants. And it is my bday! So what a better way to celebrate!!

Enjoy!Chris

Please remember to backup your files. The QMC’s are dismantled and not available after the last day. If you think you might possibly ever buy another machine and need a different file type. Please download all file types. Some of the QMC files never make it to the store. So they are originals and just for the QMC. Please remember to backup. I hate to lose files as I am sure you do to. Download twice to different areas anything you can do to protect your purchase.

The different between 4shared and the forum.

The difference is the 4shared files are uploaded individually and the forum is uploaded in zip file. Two different setups for whatever your download style.

NEXT QMC… In store shortly. Watch for notices and catch those early bird files.

Also going on in the forum….

Friday again.. Maps, playland & Big Heads...

If you want to know about the challenge scroll down a post or two. I am currently in the mode to just ramble about life... And if you want to know what Sales I am offering this weekend. Join my Yahoo group. You get up to date information directly to your inbox. You get an email about once a week. And there is no chatter it is soley a newsletter group. so about 4 or 5 emails a month.

On to life...

Quickly our California trip will be upon us. I am so looking forward to it. My kiddo and I went to the library yesterday and checked out a California DVD to watch about all the places in California. Yes I am an amateur tour guide whenever I go somewhere I have looked at all the maps (I LOVE maps.. you can ask Lori & Jan. I think they saw my whip out the map while Lori kept asking do you want my gps and Jan had out her Iphone. I just had the map and it was quick!) I am going to hit AAA next week and print out a trip-ticket. Have you ever seen one of those. Lots of directions and map. It is literally the stops and starts like a gps, but on paper. And I can flip ahead and look at it or see where I have been and even better NO bossy voice telling me where to turn or merge. I love road trips and I love just going as I please on them. I plan to get a map and lay it out on the floor with my son and hubby and mark out our possible road trip. And thinking about bringing some small stickers so my kiddo can mark on the map where we have been. I can't wait. So looking forward ot it. Yes I might be slightly demented in the technological age, but if their is a massive scrambler of gps waves I will have my trusy map with our really cool stickers on it showing the way. haha.
**
Yesterday we went to the library and looked through some books. We went right at reading time for the pre-school kids and most of the kids seemed to be very young pretty much the same crowd as the Toddler time. My son just kind of looked at me like I am not a baby. So I said come on lets go to McDees. So we headed out to McDonald's and yep that is where the 5 year old kids were. So we grabbed lunch and he played and ran and had a good time. I kept an eye on him and also checked a few things on the Blackberry. As I glanced up to check. I look over and the Mom's with the other 25 kids there are all faced towards the window. I am literally the only Mom sitting facing the kids and even glancing up to check on the kids. Okay that means I will just keep an eye a little more. So I see a kiddo get slammed to the ground and he hasn't bounced back up as most will do and he is one of the smaller of the bunch. so I walk over and squat down next to him. Are you okay? He is just dazed and it appears he has bit or cut his lip. yeah I am okay he says and just lays there a bit. All of a sudden I feel the shadow over us. WHAT IS GOING ON? I felt like saying "Oh hey Mom nice of you to join us" But instead I hear. "He is fine i am sure he is fine." I back out of the picture and tell her. "yep he looks fine although he is bleeding." .. I then hear.. "Oh Oh I didn't even see what happened what happened what happened." So we have gone from Who gives a fig let me have "MY OWN TIME" mom, to WHY are you bothering my kid Mom, To Oh my Histerics Mom. The little boy sits up and pats his Mom's leg. "I'm okay I'm Okay." (so apparently he has taken care of mom before) Now the woman has a tear because her son has blood on his lip. Which has now dried. So I said. "You could wash it off. it quit bleeding." And I smile. So she disappears with child in tow. My Son runs up behind me hugs my leg and takes off again. (We have check ins. he has to check in with me while anywhere and no words are needed just eye contact, or hug, or Mama and a nod something.) So Identity Crisis Mom comes back smiling. The little boy takes off for the playland and Mom sits down again ... and you guessed it... facing out the window chatting with her friends. I had to smile because the view is pretty out the window and the conversation is good with friends, but I so love to watch my son just run around and figure out the playland area and make new friends. Love my son. Love my life.
**
My son is in negotiation mode. I told him no wii until he had some things put away. So He is trying to figure out how to get out of it. Ha! to funny. If I do the laundry and the dishes. He can put away the legos and the cars. We got a new TV we have been hanging out with a little tiny tv for the better part of two years now. Our large one quit, then the digital conversions and all that. So you get used to the little tv that looks like a computer monitor. Well with the new LEDs coming out my hubby proclaimed now was the time to get the LCD and he was right we got one for half the cost it would have been a year ago. well my son decided to try wii Lego star wars last night. He was frozen in time as it came up on the screen and his character gets ready to play and we hear him say. "WHOA look how big my guys Head is!" hahahaha. Love it. My hubby just smiled a big ol smile. and said "Can I play to?" Love my hubby. Love my life.

Have a wonderful weekend!! Enjoy yourself! Don't forget to check out the challenge in the forum and the store for any sale items I can come up with.

ONE NOTE FOR SCUT USERS: I have included the OSW (one sheet wonder) file for your use. I cannot guarantee it will cut as there are some open paths. If you chose to use this file or can help me get the file to where you can use it and create more files like it, please feel free to contact me. I would take any and all advisement or ideas on pushing the Sure Cuts A Lot software to its full potential.

Enjoy!

that ring of fire.... in the key of 5 year old ...

The only business I am going to post today is... join the forum if you want to participate in this coming months Cutter File Challenge. We are almost ready to post the signup thread. So that is my word of advice because it will take sometime to get you approved and moderated if you haven't joined already.

And now on to life...
Well here is some of my loot from the trip with Lori and Jan met up with us on Saturday tooo. Lots of fun.. There are a couple big pads of paper stuffed under there. Things I can alter and I have wanted a big bite for a while. So I thought I would stack them all in and take a picture. Lots and lots of fun.. :-) And lots of holiday gifts planned in there. We hit hobby lobby, scrapbooks etc., joanns, sheplers, the dollar tree.. woohoo!!

And this is Lori and I on Sunday morning we met up with my brother and his wife and she took the picture for us. great time. And yes. I am shorter then Lori too!! haha. I definitely have a height deficiency, but it isn't slowing me down.
Here is something Lori learned this weekend.... When you go to buy an icey slushy drink from the convenience store. Just because it is Red doesn't mean it is Cherry, strawberry, raspberry or watermelon if you are in Arizona. hahahaha.... We ran into a convenience store for a drink. I grabbed my typical Sobe. I am not sure why Iam addicted to those things. Lori heads her way I head mine she grabs a drink and walks my way. Then she says. Oh wait I want that. I glance at the slushy machine and on the top it says Hot Tamale, Fruit Punch (which is blue) and Coke. So I put the lid on my cup of ice for the Sobe. Love my ice... Lori walks up behind me and sucks down the icee and says in her Southern accent." WEW! That is different it's cinammon. Wew".. so I got her a lid. we walked up to the front and paid. We got out to the car and I said. Are you sure you don't want a bottle of water to go with that? She sat for a few minutes and ran back inside to grab something. She proceeded to inform everyone that" just because it's red in arizona doesn't mean it's cherry." very cute, very fun, made me giggle. Had to take a pic of her holding up some hot tamales in the store. Might have to put some of these in Lori's Christmas Stocking this year. haha.
So my Hubby and Son spent some serious time this weekend just hanging out and being boys. Apparently they did whatever my little one wanted to on Saturday. so they went to the movies, the play area, for pizza, for ice cream, to play video games. all of the above and more. Needless to say my hubby when I walked in the door sat on the couch and looked just zoned and exhausted. Made me giggle. He did all of that in one afternoon when I would have spread it out over a week. haha. To cute. Sounds like they had a ton of fun. here he is with his super 3D UP movie glasses.

A new thing this morning .. My son this morning comes out of his room singing.....

and it burned burned burned.. that ring of fire that ring of fire.

I paused to listen and I said are you singing Johnny Cash?? He smiled at me and said it's from the car.. Who wouldn't love a little Johnny Cash song sung in the key of 5 year old. Love it! Love my Life..

Enjoy!
